Who Are We?

The Association of Fundraising Professionals Collegiate Chapter (AFPCC) at Iowa exists to give University of Iowa students the resources, experience, and knowledge to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. As a student organization, we strive to connect with students who have a passion for philanthropy and empower them to promote change through fundraising best practices.

We are a collegiate chapter of AFP Global, so we stand with their vision to stimulate a world of generosity and positive social good through fundraising best practices. With support from AFP Eastern Iowa and the Nonprofit Leadership and Philanthropy Certificate, we are able to facilitate diverse programming like educational training, networking, guest speakers, workshops, and conferences.

Our educational programming focuses its efforts to support University programs, nonprofit organizations, and initiatives that help meet the needs of underrepresented minorities. We celebrate diversity in our organization, and we are proud of our initiative to support minority groups in our community.

We welcome all University of Iowa students to get involved and learn how they can turn their experience at AFPCC at Iowa into a career.

We're always looking for new members! Our educational programming–which includes conferences, workshops, networking events, guest speakers, and more–goes beyond fundraising; members have the opportunity to have a lot of different experiences and learn about all kinds of careers in the nonprofit sector.

Nonprofit Leadership & Philanthropy Certificate

As a student organization, we encourage students who are interested in pursuing a career in the nonprofit sector to check out the NLP certificate! Located in the journalism school, the certificate gives students the opportunity to choose from a variety of courses, learn from all kinds of nonprofit professionals, and tackle community projects for real nonprofits around the Iowa City area.

The Association of Fundraising Professionals at Iowa (AFPCC at Iowa) is a student organization that strives to give members the skills and experience to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. As a collegiate chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Global, AFPCC at Iowa works to empower its members to learn how to generate philanthropic support for nonprofit organizations.
